Sanchez

.,.and now the double-breasted suit strikes again, in pinstripes. On someone I recognize.
I am trying really hard not to like Sanchez, his beauty is oh so obvious. But then when they do things like this to me…
By the way, I may have mentioned this already, but it’s been some time so: monochromkhiphop is a totally sweet blog to follow—not the usual k-pop celebrities, but always amazing portrait photographs. I have one female-in-leather-jacket one at the bottom of my drafts I’ve been trying to get the nerve to post for ever.
These charts are fascinating to me—a similar one taught me what “windowpane” was. I still use that and plaid for a wider range of patterns than I should, but hey. There is no way it’s worth memorizing “Glenurquhart” for everyone to just look at the word and give up.
That’s what I’d do.
I think I may bias Italian cut suits, but don’t judge me too much, I can hardly remember that’s what it is….
Whoa, thank you for finding this, lefthandedbluestocking!
This is one of my favorite personalities of Korean TV even though I haven’t watched more than one episode of her work, because she and Tablo are so funny as a couple (and a successful one, though they’re still a young one, because what a ride they’ve been on) and she is obviously even more spunky than her characters.
After all, she *is* a YG original.
This suit is cute—the accentuated shoulders not meant to look real, the blouse a little dashing for the mild color. All great at both suiting her and letting her stand out more than the clothes.
Smirks go so well with suits.
It’s like an inverse ratio between how subdued the suit to how great the smirk looks, too…
Lee Chun-Hee, hi. We haven’t met before, but you look good in clothes.
This is the triumphant return of my obsession with spectrums of grey all together, also, from the silvery shoes (awesome, btw) to the tweedy jacket over an unexpectedly close shade in the shirt.
Don’t get me wrong—I love color. But layering so you can see the spectrum of a single one this way is just so dynamic.

“Blue Beards” - photography by Kylie Coutts, beards by Lisa Cooper

This shoot has some of the most bizarre concept editing on it I have ever seen, but it also has amazing clothes to show off…

Those stripes! That tie!

Who knew the right jacket could make a floral pattern blouse look alright for menswear?

It’s possible the hydrangea beards are doing them a service, by being the weird one in the photo…

It’s been some time since I posted any suit-art!

And if I never had before, I would have started for this. GORGEOUS.

Impressionist work with such movement and verve and yet elucidating such form I can appreciate the clothes…

A knock-out lineup in a fanciful shoot themed on the Olympics for InStyle…

My favorite (of course) is Exo-K in their mixed media of gear and preppy casual. And smudges. Can’t forget my favorite makeup smudges.

Next comes Lee Min-Ki in a gorgeous set of all-white, mimicking fencing uniforms but actually a suit. Something about the high lapels reminds me pleasantly of science-teacher manga one-shots. (Or school nurses, if you prefer.)

Now that’s out of the way, what kind of faces are these doofs even making? Lee Jin Wook. You don’t even look like yourself, it is hilarious.

This car. It is so dressy-sexy that I don’t mind the distinguished gent in the background getting out of focus. Much.

Now THAT is some high style, summed up in this image.

I love the way they dress up the shoot with the jackets, and yet the only color is focused to the sneakers.

It’s splashy advertising, and also plays up the youth/spring look without having to spell it out.

Those padded shoulders on Lee Min Ho. Precious, and yet I also would like a closer look at what they’ve done with the pattern…

Okay, so we know how hard it is to uglify Kim Soo-Hyun. They gave him an impossibly bad perm and a feed-sack wardrobe to try and surprise us with his beauty, in Dream High. It only barely worked. This shoot makes me think of the comment made in What’s Up, Fox about the pretty girl as a model “You’re too pretty—pretty faces don’t make the clothes look good.”

I think Kim Soo-Hyun’s actually not a fantastic model, because I don’t really look past his face to the clothes, but he sure tried. Love the different settings, and the range of blues and blacks. The odd vest in the black and white photo looks like the most edgy piece, but otherwise these are all solid looks that Soo-Hyun kind of overwhelms.

It’s good to see him in civvies instead of sageuk regalia though. Good one, Bazaar.

Let’s see…what can I say about this? Love the dusty hues, just that bit more spring-like in their suffuse color.

Also, the length of the coat in top right corner, I am all for a little more tail. Since this is focused on a brand rather than a person, we get all the pretty details of the outfits, and a little behind-the-scenes mystique.

The color and pattern on both coats is swoonable to me, for some reason. Love light colors with texture on them…

I was so sure this was T-drama actor Kingone when I first saw it. But no! Kim Kang Woo is a Korean actor who is just equally handsome.
For some reason, the fact that he looks badgered is just that much more manly. It brings home the professional look of the suit, that it is for the man under pressure. The colors look great on him.
It makes me wonder about the fact that I see more of these colored ensembles on Asian men—if it’s a matter of complimenting skin-tone. I rarely like the same looks on Caucasian men. Not to generalize too much, it’s just a point to ponder…

This young actor has made a little career for himself playing the baby versions of incredibly beautiful actors.

We are not confused as to why. I’ve only seen his acting in a fan-made music video about Warrior Baek Dong-Soo, though I have someday plans of watching Moon That Embraces the Sun…

That plan may have just been moved into the closer future, being more resigned to however many episodes it is before the appearance of Kim Soo-hyun and Jung Il-Woo.

The suit jacket and sweater are only made interesting by their presence on child-like Jin-gu, but that leather jacket fusing brown fabric and seam-detailed black leather is the perfect boy-meets-man look for someone still adorable but obviously heading toward adulthood.

This man…is adorable. Both episodes of Immortal Song where I’ve watched Im Tae-kyung perform I’ve spent his moments on screen saying, “He is so cute. How is he so cute?”

(Often aloud. But in Japanese, so my sister doesn’t ask me what I’m talking about.)

The thing is: there are no pictures to capture that. Because he’s just handsome in stills, it’s something about his presence, in those suit jackets, with those puppy eyes, and that soaring poperah voice…

So. I gave up on the shoots that make him look to debonair, and the stills that aren’t HQ and instead have let him come to you as Mozart. With the sexiest tattered jeans ever to go with a full Baroque coat. I ACTUALLY LOVE THAT.
