Basically, on seeing this .gif, I ran over to YouTube, finally interested in 2PM’s new video.
Yup, it’s a looker.

So…I passed 500 followers this week!
AMAZING, HEY NEW DISTRACTEES HOW’S IT SHAKING?
I wanted to do something awesome, and am still planning to do something but it at this point is probably going to involve ugly ties. It’ll be a bit before it’s ready, so just hang with me…
pretty much only sure I haven’t blogged this before because I know I haven’t seen this particular .gif cut before.
This music video, I have posted. But you should go look at it if you haven’t. Not because the dancing is awesome, which it is, in that particular ‘can’t be bothered’ way that makes it somehow deconstructionist k-pop.
But because the video is gorgeous and infested with men wearing their particular version of the suit very well.
oh you are TOTALLY welcome.

I don’t fangirl SS501 and had to look this guy up because I was like “I don’t remember a rookie called this on k-pop news?” Hahaha—sigh.

I am voting for this video to be on Eat Your Kimchi’s Music Monday, though, because it’s fun, I like the sound of it, AND it reminds me of one of my other favorite unreasonably fun music videos…Kan Mi-Youn’s Paparazzi. Essentially, it’s the guy POV version of it.

And the candy-colored suits are actually quite nice, too.

Welcome to 10 new followers since my last dance break! ;) Thanks for joining my Distraction!

Are you watching K-Pop Star - Season Two? Because I am. I followed this show from the beginning and last season was practically languishing with love for Lee Ha-yi, now Lee Hi, which is a pun she and YG had fun with on the show originally.

This little guy is probably the scene-stealer of this season. He’s so cute, and yet he’s such a formidable contestant, it’s unreal.

Also, when he plays Michael Jackson, he looks FABULOUS.

(Welcome to the ten newest Distractees! …I don’t always post clips from Korean Reality shows, but when I do, you WANT TO WATCH THEM, seriously)

Say hello to our ten newest Distractees! Thanks for joining even though I was so scarce, traveling the last five days.

This video is a little bit Mary Poppins steampunk, a little bit suspense-movie cyberpunk, a lot bit disturbing imagery, and 100% awesome, even if you just listen.

(Go and listen to their interview with Eat Your Kimchi, if you like things that are awesome. Seriously.)

Anyway, guys, feel free to send a message on why you’re following, or what other things you’d like to see me post! (This goes for anyone. I do so love mail! Even when it’s “you did wrong” kinds of mail. ;)

This is a beautiful, and largely well-dressed video, and I like it, though I’m pretty sure the story defies logic…. Also, Infinite’s L/Myungsoo/Flower Boy Band One!

There’s something chill and yet intense about his face that fascinates me.

He also looks great in those looks that cross-over from casual to dressy—jackets with angles over jeans. Boots and pullover sweaters.

Not to spurn Sung-Kyu’s fantastic jacket with the red accent on the collar, or anything. He looks pretty great, too, and he’s the one actually wearing sport coats…

Video in honor of my latest ten followers! If you haven’t seen one from me in your dash yet, that’s YOU.

This is one of those songs that was not even on my radar until I watched pretty much alllll the K-Pop year end awards to fangirl Big Bang (and B.A.P, I’ll admit it right now). And then I was like, huh. Boyfriend, who gave you such an epic song?

The opening’s military costumes are  drop-dead gorgeous, I’m sure you noticed. It makes the slightly less gorgeous blue iterations of suits with intricate brocade pattern not eye-scorching but coordinated.

And since I-Yah is also good in this less tween-pop way, I will have to start actually paying attention when they release music…

And hey, welcome to my latest 10 followers! If you’ve joined in the last week or so, this song goes out to you. ;)

This woman is so electric—and I love this video.

Her distinctive style is unmistakeable, and I like that the other dancers look like they’re in on the fun, not support staff. Also, those shoes are both snazzy and nicely snatch the attention down to the feet in a placement of white that’s not the expected shape, though still a classy design.

Also, guess what blog has 10 new followers already? ;D

Hello, hello, another new half-score of followers!

Pleased to meet you, and welcome to the world of being distracted by the elements of suits everywhere.

Like K-Pop videos. Where they are buried under glitter and bows, but definitely still there… And always paired with impossibly skinny jeans, so you wonder how they can accomplish those dance moves.

Thanks for joining us!

Evanescence: always well dressed, if dramatically so.

Also, welcome new SuitDistractees! Thanks for joining me in my distraction.

(No, really, I interrupt dramas all the time to say, “Do you see that vest?” to my poor sister. That’s normal, right?)

One of my favorite songs also has one of my favorite music videos:

a desolate, but evocative landscape

gorgeous, but grounded costume

a sense of period without detracting from the song with too much story.

Also, I got up to 300 followers the other day!!! SO EXCITING, thank you for following along!

of course today I’m back down just one to make me feel like a failure because somebody doesn’t like me anymore, but hey. Hah.

A video with such a clear aesthetic I feel I could point out the director’s other work. Gorgeous set spaces with wood and lighting just like I pick out in photographs.

Excellent boots on Yoo Ah-In, with his denim shirt. Beautiful shoes on BoA and her signature sporty-classic crossover look.

I actually hadn’t seen this until I just watched the BoA ComeBack special, since I adore the dance version! But I knew it had to be my next ten-new-followers celebration video.

Which I need today! WELCOME <3

This video doesn’t feature many suits. Or any.

It’s more along the lines of having sets and furniture that are classic and beautiful that make me love the look of this…including how they contrast with the clothes.

I also love the way 2NE1 use their clothes to set themselves apart, underscoring the different nature of their music, too. It’s trendy, it’s loud in ways that fit the convention of what stars should look like in Korean pop…but they seem to commit to it in a different way. It’s not that each of them have a slightly different version of a theme. They have pieces of clothing that share a certain style, but are individually chosen.

2NE1 are possibly the only girl group with a strong sense of style as a group, even though they don’t dress up matched the same way others do. It’s a YG house style, but I think they play with it in ways that are just intriguing.

Also, hey new followahs! <3

Celebrating my newest 10 followers with a video full of formal clothes, especially some in action-hero-run-montages. My FAVORITE.

(I like BIIB, despite the silliness of their name. They seem to be getting the benefit of all the experience-points of B2ST’s production team right off the bat…)
