Still remember Korean drama’s “49 Days” ? if you do, I bet you remember who’s this charming guy >.<

Jo Hyun Jae - Sure Magazine May Issue 2013

Nice blend of casual and preppy pieces—which matches the man. He’s got the mature jaw for suits, but a little more of an easy-going smile. …Now I’m trying to remember what I’ve watched that I know his face.

(via itscoolmantotallycool)

One main reason Robert Downey, Jr. owns being Tony Stark is because he’s so comfortable in suits, as a celebrity, it’s completely effortless. Or so it looks.
I realized I was putting off posting this because I was internally asking “Is it too soon to post Robert Downey, Jr. again?”
I don’t know I think the answer to that should be obvious, what do you say?

Brad Pitt photographed by Steven Klein for Interview, November 2012

Is it me, or does Brad Pitt look kind of super-excellent as the overt mafia boss?
He looks a bit bemused about the handgun, too, which is just making the whole character take on life in my mind…
I’m sure that sequin job is state-of-the-art hand designed or sewn or something, because you don’t get that kind of patterning from a machine sewing on sequins. I’m not a fan of sequins, but it makes me want to like them here.
I definitely like that black pleated blouse.
I do not like cropped pants, Sam I Am, tho I probably wouldn’t have particularly noticed them on GD—it’s putting them on Taeyang that makes it such a noticeable crime (though at least he doesn’t have green suede loafers on).
But I love these guys playing the part of sharp dressers. This is a particularly well-done ensemble suiting, too, because it’s aware of the personas involved, and panders to them.
Both Daesung and Seungri are wearing skin-hugging jeans, because for some reason they are the metros of the group, but Seungri’s got the light-hearted plaid while Daesung has a more restrained grey-scale check. Throw something at Taeyang that’s almost as odd as what G-Dragon is wearing. Let TOP carry the straight-up look so the rest look like hiphop renditions.
I geek out a bit about Big Bang, I know.

Double K

oh. my. gosh
wae so cute, Double K? I mean, I like his rapping, but I’ve only ever seen him being rapper-than-thou in Kim Hyun-Joong’s Break Down video, hiding under a hat. (I think the thing that makes Korean rappers so appealing is their freedom to have different sides to them, they don’t have to be street constantly or something…)
His varsity style jacket makes him legit to post here, you know. Though the little cartoon basketballs on the hoodie under that are kind of killing me, in a humor sort of way.
The star of the first two episodes of Gu Family Book (as the father of Lee Seung-Gi’s character) is apparently a guy who has been working to make a place for himself in Korean show-biz for sometime and has broken out with this drama.
I can see why. Sometimes a face needs a little more age to be truly winsome—especially if it’s a very handsome one. (Which is why I was quite charmed by these photos of Choi Siwon without his make-up; the man is suffering from looking too airbrushed when his actual age gives it more interest.)
I hope you are not over hot shirtsleeves-with-casual-accessories shots. Because I sure am not.

Sneaking in another Japanese fashion portrait that is mainly casual-clothes but somehow chic in the right way.

And Kiritani Kenta is handsome. Which is what I’m sure we’re all really here for, anyhow.

via DramaBeans, a puckish Kang Ji-Hwan, just as we like him. He can be so strangely fashionable and child-like at the same time.
I really, really need to watch Coffee House again, rooting for the right couple. I wasn’t rooting for either girl, and it was confusing to me…
Anyway. I’m not sure about polkadots—in general, they bother me if they’re this large. Embossed on velvet really doesn’t improve them. But then, it’s such a funky look, it almost makes itself work on sheer swagger.
Other suited looks on him at the source!

Delightful light fashion shoot featuring Kim Woo-Bin and robin’s egg blue, apparently.

It’s from a magazine I hadn’t heard of before, Woman Joong Ang; sounds like a ladies’ journal, which explains a bit of the innocent olden-days feel to the shoot. I really, really like the jacket at the top, though. It balances plaid with a low-contrast scheme, but uses it well for a spring brightened suit look.

Saw this again, didn’t stand against the temptation to post this time.
I think I did several posts on the actual photoshoot, but see, this is behind-the-scenes footage, so totally different!
Also, he’s half out of a denim jacket.

Like I mentioned in response to the Roy Qiu suggestion, I don’t find many images of Roy Qiu suited that work for me. I’m sure it would work for me if I was watching a drama—being a shade restricted by a suit is a characterization detail, not a flaw.

In fashion portraits, though, the comfort level is important. Can see here a much more natural look—he’s got the build for draping tees, sweaters, layering knits with sport coats. A fusion of maturity and casual that works really well with the face shown in these photos.

Oh man. Those eyebrows. They make this portrait, really.
The suit is pretty straight-up, though the shirt has the black button-placket section that’s chic rather than standard. But Zion.T’s carriage tells you what you need to know about him—he dresses well because he’s a bit ironic.
He’s R&B, but often wears suits that parody the fly-dresser type. I’m getting a crush, I think.

It’s about time to say it again—I don’t take submissions, but I am more than happy to get asks/fanmail with suggestions! I don’t take anons, either, but if you ask me to not publish your name, I won’t link you in any posts

(Flip hand: if you do send a suggestion, I usually shout-out to whoever asked!)

I need more names to look up or even just tag-surf here on Tumblr. I love being able to post new faces!

Meanwhile, today’s Suggested Search tag is looking waaaay fuller than I remembered:

#gif, the moving suit edition.

It includes my most successful post ever, yet: Frank Iero of MCR shrugging his swag on

Wild hair—not just “oh, I tossed this instead of brushing it” but actually grown out wild. Paired with a neat, chic jacket. I so do love personality upstaging fashion in a portrait.
And since I have this slight fetish, I will announce to you that the bracelets tie it all together, whether anyone else would think so…

Jay Park, Will & Jaden Smith at the After Earth red carpet event [13.05.07]

Been a while since I’ve done a red carpet edition!

Jay’s Instagram upload is equally handsome, if a bit more Instagram-y…and I love that on Facebook he said “First time being star-struck, lol” because that actually makes a lot of sense to me.

That is a handsome sucker of a suit jacket he has on, and they look like such a great set together.

I do wonder a bit if Jaden’s being 14 in every picture I’ve seen from their Korea trip so far, or jet-lagged. Not that frowning is particularly a bad look on him…
