Are you watching K-Pop Star - Season Two? Because I am. I followed this show from the beginning and last season was practically languishing with love for Lee Ha-yi, now Lee Hi, which is a pun she and YG had fun with on the show originally.

This little guy is probably the scene-stealer of this season. He’s so cute, and yet he’s such a formidable contestant, it’s unreal.

Also, when he plays Michael Jackson, he looks FABULOUS.

(Welcome to the ten newest Distractees! …I don’t always post clips from Korean Reality shows, but when I do, you WANT TO WATCH THEM, seriously)

Okay, here’s a *great* example of a woman looking fiercely classy in traditional dress. This hanbok is in a mod color scheme, without lacking the recognizable pattern of different pieces.
Definitely a great counterpart to suit style in formality that can be carried off as swag…

Evanescence: always well dressed, if dramatically so.

Also, welcome new SuitDistractees! Thanks for joining me in my distraction.

(No, really, I interrupt dramas all the time to say, “Do you see that vest?” to my poor sister. That’s normal, right?)

One of my favorite songs also has one of my favorite music videos:

a desolate, but evocative landscape

gorgeous, but grounded costume

a sense of period without detracting from the song with too much story.

Also, I got up to 300 followers the other day!!! SO EXCITING, thank you for following along!

of course today I’m back down just one to make me feel like a failure because somebody doesn’t like me anymore, but hey. Hah.

Celebrating my newest 10 followers with a video full of formal clothes, especially some in action-hero-run-montages. My FAVORITE.

(I like BIIB, despite the silliness of their name. They seem to be getting the benefit of all the experience-points of B2ST’s production team right off the bat…)

This is totally aside from the model—I love the textures on this. All the pieces are so sculptural.
The net over the face is, okay, just “fashion”ism, but it also draws the eye in to the detail layer where things are really happening.

I just…I don’t know how to get my mind around DiCaprio growing up to be a foxy gent. I think it’s awesome he overcame teen stardom, but this…
Apparently is a teaser-image for his latest project, a Tarantino movie. I approve of the tie and brocade vest so much. The jacket is playing an unusual part in just framing them, too.

Prada. Steampunk.

Willem Dafoe and Gary Oldman.

and Jamie Bell, Garrett Hedlund.

I don’t know what else to tell you, except, go to the article linked as a source, because there is more, so much more.

(Well, for one thing, it’s interesting to see a couture designer following the steampunk trend, but it’s pretty clear it’s been drawn on for ideas in structure that are still dynamic and fresh. Also, yes to pocket-eyecandy.)

Can we talk about how epic this is.
This video is going to be sick.

I think I have always known TOP was a shinigami, but until that cape I couldn’t quite put my finger on it.
Also, darn you, processed photography, and your lack of focus on the boot detail!

This kid is the bomb.

Oh, someone’s going to grow up into a heartbreaker.

Just look at the glint in his eye…he KNOWS he’s fantastically dressed.

Also, even children are wearing those shoes, how come Goodwill won’t get me any?

Let’s look at excellent deployment of the leather jacket on stage, shall we? Love Suzy’s look here—the deliberately running tights under shorts look fantastic as an accent to the leather jacket.

This is a pretty clear-cut image, casual-rebel. But it’s not boring, because the layers work together like an outfit on the street—not too matched, and they reflect a personal style.

The two top photos are from a suit-shoot with Jo Jung-Suk, currently in King 2Hearts, but of course…I fell for his drama headshot.

That drama had the proper kind of fun with world-building through costuming. It’s on my “maybe later” list for watching, but what a hot uniform…

The predominance of white with touches of gold, over black is so regal. Someone had fun drawing this out, let loose on an elaborate royal uniform concept. The buttons! The shoulder-boards!

I doubt I’ll watch this drama, a historical suspense romance (if it was a movie? definitely) but I love the look that it’s been running with, from the weird painterly posters to this photo shoot by Vogue with the two stars.

And then, there’s such a different range in period costume. Look at the lavish buttons and collar on that navy coat!

And though I rarely comment on dresses—my friends, Kim So-Yeon’s gown here is a stunner. The detailing is shaped and proportioned just right to look luxurious, but not over-lavish.

This man…is adorable. Both episodes of Immortal Song where I’ve watched Im Tae-kyung perform I’ve spent his moments on screen saying, “He is so cute. How is he so cute?”

(Often aloud. But in Japanese, so my sister doesn’t ask me what I’m talking about.)

The thing is: there are no pictures to capture that. Because he’s just handsome in stills, it’s something about his presence, in those suit jackets, with those puppy eyes, and that soaring poperah voice…

So. I gave up on the shoots that make him look to debonair, and the stills that aren’t HQ and instead have let him come to you as Mozart. With the sexiest tattered jeans ever to go with a full Baroque coat. I ACTUALLY LOVE THAT.

Fun outfits of various sorts!

Lee Dong-Wook (this looks like early, maybe My Girl press conference era of him) in an ivory suit with a bow-tie to keep it up-tempo. Otherwise, with that fantastic hair and the monochromatics of the suit, well. He may look like a wanna-be movie star.

Kyuhyun, how cute are you? I love historical costumes for men (obviously, if you have a fascination with suits, they’re more interesting than the ladies’) and the frilly collar and decorated button-placket here is just tasty.

And then Chris Colfer, dressed more urbane and low-key than his character, but with the same sense for the combination. I love the contrast edging on that vest, and the sneakers that bring it back to black after the jeans have toned it down to casual.

…but why all the justification? I just think they’re cute when they’re dressed up.
