I told my sister, “You know, I think Heechul is the one I’m most excited about getting out of the military”And she said, “You mean the only one?”She’s right. I’ve been blogging about him, and missing him in the military since the start. Not because I crush on him—it’s that Korean show business NEEDS HIM.He also does sass in a suit like nobody else. Princely hair, skinny tie, mischief in his eye.
This is one of those “I don’t know what’s going on with this outfit, but I like it” deals.
Is it a sweater? A breastplate of fabric? The sleeves and collar are set off by the black, so it’s dynamic, if it’s odd.
And anyone in SM is going to be often touched by the Powers of Odd. This is way better than most of the results.
A great example of styling by limiting the palette, contrasting the actual pieces. Ryeowook has the softer plaid jacket, but buttoned-up shirt.
Kyuhyun (who looked amazing in rocker-spectrum looks on Immortal Song 2) is in a coat type jacket, rather than a suit jacket and a sportier striped tee.
Yesung, always best in more minimalist but dramatic looks, has a vee-neckand jacket sans lapel, matching black pants instead of white.
This photo is just really pretty,  and it’s only partly the k-pop boy-band faces.

Kind of a bigger fan of the female model’s outfit…not sure who she is though. Love menswear paired with heels.

Isn’t that f(x)’s Krystal, i.e. SnSd Jessica’s sister?
Wow, she looks amazing like this. Dear SM: dress f(x) better, instead of like the stepsister! I mean, I like the general vibe that’s more edgy and punk than SNSD but it doesn’t really flatter them all.
JUST SAY YES TO ARGYLE THIS SEASON, that lovely deep red is probably half the filter’s effect, but I adore it.
The thing that I don’t understand about Siwon is how he looks so lush shirtless, and yet can also FIT IN THOSE PANTS.
The world is a mysterious place.
Also, why do those shoes look right on him? I think they should always rumple him up a bit and keep him from making his Seriously Handsome face. (If I sound a bit severe, he’s a former bias I got over. Apologies.)

Super Junior for W Magazine. I love it!

Back up. Why is Shindong looking more svelte than I am in this photo? My world is crumbling…I mean, he’s always been actually handsomer than some of the other SuJu guys for me, but. but.
Okay, worldview issues aside, I think this is a great fusion-fashion look. They’re in slacks, Yesung and Ryeowook, while Sungmin is in patterned jeans, Shindong in — velour harem pants? Why does that even look okay it sounds *ridiculous*.
But it’s all a monochromatic, with blue tones and mainly solids in different shades. It’s lovely, and makes the fashion flourishes pop—the fact that they’re in sneakers with these pseudo-dressy remixes, and wearing big accessories.
Sexy, skinny denims.
Leeteuk has the kind of lean build that he can utilize as a boy-band member that no other kind of man of his age would be allowed to…like wearing skinny-fit jeans and a denim jacket sans undershirt.
Leeteuk is kind of an enigma to me, but there is nothing mysterious about his appeal in this photo. We even get some nice framed collarbones popping…

Simplicity is key here—this shoot had a couple of other odd pieces, but the photography and styling used the same principles. Choi Siwon, in that thing, and nothing else that would really call the attention.

Of course, these are the two pieces I liked—a pullover sweater, dressing up jeans with the clean lines that still have so much texture. Same for the denim shirt, actually—the sense of texture that comes across is disproportionate, because knits and denim have such character.

My magazine-crush strikes again, with photos of my SuJu crush—looking strangely mature. Donghae has a puppy-vibe, but he *is* turning 26 this year. I’m not including the photo of him in only jeans, but it was, uh, ravishing.

I like the through-a-window obscuring of parts of each photo here. It sets it in a story—maybe this is the view of a secretary in the outer part of the office, watching the young tycoon’s turmoil.

The black-and-white ensemble seems mute, in the monochromatic scale, but the blouse is actually a trendy one—with color-tipped collar and a body in a contrasting color. Makes me think of the leather-accented jacket Kim Soo-Hyun modelled here lately…

One reason to love SuJu is the stylists’ dedication to looks that are not too edgy, but also trendy. The all-white suit is kind of a classic in K-Pop, but the shape of it, of course, changes. This is 2000-teens by merit of the narrow but overlong leg of the trousers.
The white tee instead of a button-up helps.
Zhou Mi looks like he’s been caught for an impromptu fashion shoot by a fangirl in a hotel somewhere… his belt and shoes are just totally street-approved, and it’s not a strong enough statement to be stage-wear. I wonder what this came from. X)
Sometimes it’s good to get a little more informal around here.
By which I mean, I’ve wanted to post this photo every time I saw it, and finally caved to the siren call of denim on denim over denim. Adore the lining on the outer jacket—it looks like tee material, soft and next-to-skin comfortable.
Meanwhile, bracelets.
I also really like paint-splotch effects, though they’re kind of last year. Since my pants have them, and they are from last year…

This Super Junior photo shoot was amazing.

formal suit jackets over jeans? Never get tired of it. Especially if the shirts underneath are part of the look.
Heechul has a fun lining on his upturned cuffs of his shirt—Donghae just gets the silky lining showing on his. (Oh…Heenim’s lapels have a pattern, too. Iiiinteresting.)
Interesting choice to keep the collars unbuttoned, but inside the jacket. It makes it even more half-way to formal.

I missed a couple of these because I didn’t wait long enough for my dealer to post them all… but that’s all right.

These two both star excellent jackets with totally different presentation though belonging to the same type. This shoot also has a fairly restrained palette—the tones of the colors are the primary statement made in that way. But the rich brown is fresh in menswear, something coming in with longer jacket silhouettes and vintage bikes I think…

Again, ubiquitous watches (to the point that they’ve switched him to a lefty with these two, though in the other three he’s got it on the other arm) but I really like the motion of these two shots. It makes them less obvious.

I do not like loafer shaped shoes, but the hats here atone for everything. EVERYTHING.

[Full Disclosure: Donghae is the person I most want to adopt. It’s possible seeing him in a cute hat not unlike the ones used in Asian kindergarten uniforms is affecting me in a way it will affect no one else.]

I love the stony blue of the suit jacket and corduroy ensemble, though. This is a comfortable look, rather than a highly fashionable one. Which suits his more easy-going persona, anyway.

Looking good, Siwon, and I have a weird bias against your classically handsome face, so that’s saying a lot…

A girl has to wonder if they were actually advertising watches with this shoot rather than clothes (it’s possible) but even so—love the photographs. The clothes look real, and their settings likewise, though it’s all in densely saturated hues to make it clear it’s no snapshot.

This is actually a great illustration of why Siwon is no Ren to me; he looks great in these slightly informal, complex looks. Ren of Skip-Beat is a Gaultier guy, a couture model with a striking, minimalist wardrobe.

Love the underlying layer of plaids and check here, though.
