Screencap Candids - suits at work edition
Some great suit-piece combinations in their natural environment. Let’s start with the doctor, shall we? Technically, I think that tie is supposed to be loud and tasteless. If it didn’t blend so well with the shirt (and Matt Smith wasn’t flashing us a little wrist) maybe it would come across that way. As it is now…kudos.
Roy Chiu is mixing a cowl neck sweater with a windowpane jacket for what I assume is meant to be an upper-crust fashion forward look. With the cropped, business-like cut (for a drama, anyway) it gets across that he’s a man of the world, and probably a man of means as well. The balance of it is neatly done.
And Lee Jang-Woo… this shirt combo buffs him up beautifully, though I’m not sure what’s going on with the loosened cravat or knotted scarf under the black shirt. (Or maybe it’s just an oddly collared shirt? I *really* don’t know what’s going on.) But gray over black over white is making him look chic though not too flowery, despite the daring…layering choices.
(How did that drama end, by the way?)
Roy Qiu has, like, no photoshoots in suits. It’s kind of incredible, but he has a different vibe, I guess. (And almost all the ones with smiles in his Image Search are actually Mike He. Smile, Roy!)
Here are some stills from shows with him sporting some nice formal looks, though. That red under black? I know that’s only-in-drama kind of clothes, but please. I’ll take one.
And Roy looks cuter as a pilot than Kingone, who always looks a little nervous in business clothes.
