Well, they didn’t budget much for travel from Hollywood for this shoot—I’m pretty sure those dry hills are that particular Californian wasteland of my youth. (Do I spot star thistle?)
However, the sleek car, is neat enough to play with this landscape a bit. And JGL is sporting an unusual suit combo—low in contrasts, since the shirt’s a lighter shade but similar tones to the tie, and the suit itself is not very dark.
While not particularly natural, the set-up has a certain weight, since the landscape isn’tso ideal, just as his casual leaning on a barb-wire twined pole isn’t.
This has a rakish edge, the dotted, formal vest under a jacket that’s restrained enough in style to go great with jeans.
Having only one button undone makes it look like he could have a tie, but of course he wouldn’t right now, wandering melancholy on the shore. It’s sunny but chilly, too, I’ll bet, like the image here.
Urbane, but relaxed.

Seriously boys, take note. This is how to dress.

Speaks the truth! Though not all boys can pull of quirky preppy.
This sweater is all-round win, though… the navy intarsia pattern is great in it’s complexity of shape, and yet the simplicity of the color contrast. Curling back the cuffs and letting the shirt tails hang is just you know. To kill me.
Looking adorable, J-GL.
